Insulated Stainless Steel Sliding Doors
Space-saving solution for large openings. Easy, one-handed operation or full automation.
The insulated stainless steel sliding door is ideal where a hinged leaf would be in the way, but a good seal and a durable industrial design cannot be compromised. One of the most practical solutions for corridors, loading docks, cold rooms, and intensive material handling routes.
- Suitable for large openings without losing useful traffic space.
- Can be designed in both manual and automatic versions, adapted to daily traffic.
- Manufactured with stainless steel fittings and a reliable sealing system.
Choose a door type
Stainless steel cold storage hinged doors
Hermetic sealing for spaces above 0°C. For personnel traffic, with rising hinges.
Insulated sliding doors
Space-saving solution for large openings. Manual or automatic, for forklift traffic.
Stainless steel cold storage swing doors
Semi-insulated design for industrial corridors. Fast, barrier-free passage.
Freezer doors
For deep-freeze rooms (-25°C). Extra insulation and heated frame system against icing.
When every centimeter counts
The biggest advantage of cold storage sliding doors is that they do not take up space from the useful traffic route when opened. Since they move sideways, they are ideal for corridors or narrow vestibules.
For large openings: They are suitable for closing openings up to 3 meters wide, allowing forklifts and pallet jacks to pass unimpeded.
Besides saving space, an important advantage is that the traffic route remains cleaner and more organized. The dead space around hinged doors does not occur here, making it a particularly practical choice in high-traffic plants.
Engineering precision for smooth running
Moving heavy door leaves remains easy if the track system, suspension, and closing mechanism work in harmony. This gives the sliding door its true utility value.
"Drop-down" mechanism
When closing, the door leaf moves downwards and inwards in the final phase, thus pressing tightly against the frame and the floor. When opening, it first lifts, protecting the rubber seal from friction and aiding smooth running.
Perfect sealingStainless steel track system
The fittings of the door leaf and the frame are made of AISI 304 (WNr. 1.4301) stainless steel, providing a long-term corrosion-resistant and reliable solution even in humid, intensive industrial environments.
Corrosion-resistantStable bottom guide
The precise bottom guide prevents the door leaf from swinging, resulting in more accurate closing and smoother running even under intensive use. This is especially important alongside forklift routes.
Accurate runningDesigned for daily use
A rarely opened pantry door and an opening serving continuous material handling do not need the same solution. Hardware, opening assistance, and automation should always be matched to actual traffic.
Adapted to trafficManual or automatic operation?
Smaller doors are made with recessed handles, while larger ones use external and internal opening assist handles. Thanks to the precise bearings, the door leaf can be easily moved with minimal effort.
Motorized opening with a pull switch, radar, or remote control. Provides faster and more comfortable operation in high-traffic passageways, while reducing losses from open time.
Insulation over 100 mm and a heated frame-threshold system against ice formation. Made for deep-freeze spaces where a normal cold storage solution would no longer be enough.
Technical content
Panel structure
Injected polyurethane foam insulation with double-sided stainless steel sheet cladding. The thermal bridge-free design reduces the chance of condensation while providing a stable and durable door leaf. Available thicknesses: 60, 80, 100, 120, and 140 mm.
Track guidance
Top-hung, anodized aluminum or stainless steel track, with a dust cover if required. The bottom guide provides stable running even under intensive forklift traffic.
Safety
For automatic doors, edge protection, photocells, and emergency stop buttons can also be installed. For manual doors, an internal emergency release lever can be requested so that use remains reliable and safe.
Options
Lockable versions, collision protection strips, special handles, automation, and customized detailed solutions for unique use can also be requested. The stainless steel design remains the best choice for industrial environments.
Questions before ordering a sliding door
How much space is needed next to the door?
To open the sliding door, a clear wall surface equal to the width of the opening, plus approximately 20–30 cm, is needed in the opening direction so the door leaf can slide away completely.
Is there a threshold with the sliding door?
For cold rooms, there is generally no fixed threshold; the rubber seals against the floor. For freezers, a recessed heated threshold is placed flush with the floor, allowing forklifts to pass unimpeded.
Can it be easily moved by hand?
Yes, with proper sizing and good running gear, the manual sliding door can be easily opened with one hand. However, for larger sizes or a higher number of daily cycles, it is worth considering automation.
When is an automatic version preferred?
Where traffic is intensive, forklift passage is frequent, or fast opening and closing are important. The automatic system provides convenience and can also reduce losses from open time.
